MP 34 Rutland 6

The Bulldogs took care of Rutland Friday night thanks in large part to some big plays on special teams and the ever-strong Dog defense. The Bulldogs held the Hurricanes to only 16 yards rushing and on touchdown.
Senior Andrew Estes recovered a fumbled Rutland punt in the endzone for his first-ever Bulldog touchdown. Estes also got his hands on another Rutland punt for a block.
MP's offense was a bit sluggish at times, but there were moments of greatness. Early in the third quarter Chris Bowden turned an 8-yard pass into a 63 yard touchdown. Quin King rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
But it was the defense that remained the constant force. Meshari Walton and Marquis Perkins led the Bulldogs in tackling, with five each. The MP defense sacked Rutland's QB six times. Late in the third quarter Brandyn Jackson had an interception that put the Dogs in Hurricane territory again. Junior Willie Stewart scored his first touchdown of the season on a two-yard run to cap it off.
The Dogs come home Friday to face South Atlanta at 7:30 p.m.

alright Mp Dawgs..great job on D-E-F-E-N-S-E and special teams. we are 3-0, which is a good thing and next week ought to be another easy game, but weve got "dem Red Devils" the following week....weve got 1 week to finally get our offense clicking on all cylinders before the big show-down. Both teams will be fired up and should go into that game undefeated with the region crown on the line... which will only add fuel to the fire...should be a great game!...GOOOOO DAWGS! keep it up!
GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAY TO GO DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS..IT IS ALWAYS GREAT TO MAKE A TOUCHDOWN, BUT MAKING ONE AS A SENIOR IS AN ADDED PLUS. WAY TO GO ANDREW ESTES.... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. THE ENTIRE TEAM LOOKS GREAT.. WE GOTTA BEAT JACKSON..GREAT JOB COACHES..LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE GAMES.
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!
Our schedule is weak and I hope we will not regret it later. We have some obvious holes to fill and some questionable positions occupied by questionable skills. We will see!!!!
